Working in an art gallery
There are so many interesting things to look at in the art gallery. Some of them are old, others new. The people who visit the gallery are very friendly, and what I really love is that both myself and the visitors are learning something new all the time.
Many types of people come to the gallery. Most of them live in the local area and come back more than once. We also get some visitors from other countries, as well as large groups of school children. In my opinion, it is the children who enjoy the gallery the most because it has lots of activities.
One gallery, called Art is Beauty, is designed to challenge how people see art. Articles are often written in the newspaper and online about how the exhibition is always changing. People come from all over the world to see some of the modern pieces, which includes video games and graphic design.
My least favourite gallery to work in is about entertainment. For staff, it is challenging because there are a lot of television screens and we always have problems with the technology. It can get very noisy, but visitors love this gallery because it is huge.
One of the newest galleries is all about us at 21st century citizens. Some of the artwork looks at the history of how we got here and also life now. However, it is mainly designed to ask questions about what life will be like in the next 500 years.
Whenever I visit a new place, I always visit an art gallery. Perhaps it is because I work in one. It is great way to support the local community. Most importantly though, galleries are amazing places to gather information and learn. For that reason, I really recommend visiting them.
