To express actions that occurred in the past and have results or effects in the present. - To talk about personal experiences or achievements that have an impact on the person at the present time. - To talk about events that happened at an unspecified time in the past. It is good to know the uses and construction of the present perfect tense so that you can express events correctly and understand messages of time and effect in sentences.
